Golf in Schools
The goal:
To increase awareness about Golf Canada’s Golf in Schools program among teachers and parents of elementary school children in Calgary.
The project:
Golf in Schools is a program targeted at increasing students’ knowledge and appreciation for the sport of golf. Golf Canada was looking for ways to increase awareness about this new program to encourage participation and thereby the development of young golfers. To help achieve this goal, Momentum developed a media relations strategy designed to engage local media and successfully deliver the key messages.
The result:
Momentum created a six-segment line-up for breakfast television remotes that took the reporter through elements of the Golf in Schools program. The interviewer could join the students in a putting competition and participate in a golf-related exercise routine. Momentum also arranged for the availability of a Golf Canada spokesperson to discuss the program logistics and other Golf Canada initiatives. With coverage from CityTV, Global Television and ShawTV, Golf Canada definitely scored a hole-in-one with the campaign.
